In today’s world with so many things to do in so little time, it can be hard to make sure we are taking proper care of our bodies and getting all the beauty regimens in we desire. So I have decided to share a little secret of how I dedicate a few hours of my time each week to what I call “Spa-Time-At-Home”. If you can decide on a certain day and time, and mark it on your calendar you can start this beauty regimen too. I like to do mine right after house cleaning, since that is also a weekly practice and I like to soak in a nice bath after cleaning anyway. Renewing my environment and myself altogether is a wonderful feeling.

Spa-Time-At-Home Steps

Step 1: First, I start a warm bath with some Bubble Bath and make sure I have all the necessary items close at hand and easy to carry to the bathtub in a Bath Caboodle.

Items in my Spa-Time-At-Home Bath Caboodle:
(Listed in the order they are used)

Face Wash
Facial Wash Cloth
Moisturizing and/or Clarifying Shampoo
Hair Mask (This can be Raw Eggs Yolks, Aloe Vera, or another reconstructing, moisturizing and/or protein hair product of your choice)
Shower Cap or a Plastic Bag
Exfoliating Body Wash/Scrub
Pumice Stone
Nail Cuticle Pusher
Nail Clippers
Nail File
Coffee Grounds
Nail Scrubbing Brush
Body Oil
Face Mask (This can be ItWorks! Facial Deep Hydration Mask, Raw Eggs Yolks, Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil or another product of your choice)
ItWorks! Ultimate Body Applicator Wraps
Plastic Saran Wrap

Step 2: While I wait for the bath to fill with warm water, I light candles and sometimes like to set my iPad up to play an audio book, some nice relaxing music, or even some nature sounds like the ocean or rain.

Step 3: When the Bath is full with water and perfectly warm, I slowly submerge my entire body head to toe under the water making sure all my hair is wet of course. Upon resurfacing, I wash my face and shampoo my hair.

Step 4: After I have rinsed my face and hair, I completely cover my hair with the Hair Mask. If I plan to leave this in overnight, I place a Shower Cap or Plastic Bag over my Hair Mask. I also make sure to put a towel over my pillow and around my neck to keep my clothes and pillow clean. If you are using a plastic bag, it might help to use a scrunchie to tie around the remainder of the bag to keep it from filling with air.

Step 5: Once I have my hair mask on and protected my hair (with a Shower Cap or Plastic Bag over my Hair Mask) or have rinsed my hair, I wash my body with an Exfoliating Body Wash or Scrub.

Step 6: Next I use a Pumice Stone on any areas that might have rougher skin or where I want to do some extra exfoliating like elbows, knees, and feet. Be careful not too press or rub too hard with the pumice stone.

Step 7: With my nails being more pliable after soaking, this is a great time to push my nail cuticles back with my Nail Cuticle Pusher, clip and file my nails.

Step 8: After I have taken care of my nails, I rub Coffee Grounds on from my waist down to my knees and let it sit for about 5 minutes. My mother swears by using coffee grounds that it pulls cellulite out and I have seen it do nicely for myself as well. I take the coffee grounds out of the coffee filter after I make coffee and keep them in a zip lock bag until I am ready to use them.

Step 9: Now that I have rinsed the coffee grounds off, this is a perfect time to use my Nail Scrubbing Brush to clean my nails, especially since I may have a few coffee grounds in them.

Step 10: Finally I pull the plug to drain the water and rub Body Oil all over my body in the tub while the water drains. Body Oil can be messy, so I make sure to do this while I am still in the tub. I rub the oil on my feet last. *Making sure to have a towel or cushy soft rug in front of the bath tub to step on when you get out will keep you from slipping and falling. I like to air dry naked and let the oil soak into my skin. If I am running short on time, I may grab a towel to pat dry. While patting dry with a towel, I am careful not to take too much oil off, as I want to let my skin absorb it. I wash my hands and dress.

Step 11: Now is a good time to do a little teeth whitening. First, make sure to get a warm glass of water ready by the sink for you to rinse with. Using a Food Grade Ultra Fine Charcoal, I bush it onto my teeth and let it set for at least 30 seconds. When I feel I have let it sit long enough, I rinse it out with the warm water and bush my teeth.

Step 12: Lastly I prepare a warm, plush facial wash cloth. This can be done by running the wash cloth under warm water and wringing it out. If you have a Towel Warmer, like I enjoy using, this makes the wash cloth even warmer and can even sterilize the wash cloth – just like going to the Spa! I lay down and place the warm wash cloth over my face to open my pores for about 5 minutes.

Step 13: Now I can apply my Facial Mask. I let the Face Mask sit overnight or rinse it after a certain period of time according to the directions. After rinsing the mask off I make sure to use my astringent and moisturizer for my face.

Step 14: After I shower the next morning, I apply an ItWorks! Ultimate Body Applicator Wrap to my fresh clean skin and wrap this with plastic saran wrap. I leave the wrap on all day and overnight. This wrap will tighten, smooth the appearance of, and add nutrients to the areas of skin it is applied to. This wrap can be used on the stomach, thighs, arms, basically wherever you want to tighten up and smooth the appearance of your skin – except your face. The skin on the face is more delicate, so I use the ItWorks! Facial Deep Hydration Mask on my face.

ItWorks! Ultimate Body Applicator Wraps and the ItWorks! Facial Deep Hydration Masks cannot be found in stores, they can only be purchased through an ItWorks! Distributor. To order from an ItWorks! Distributor send an email to info@artistjanekelly.com or send us a message by filling out the Contact Form on the Contact page.

Remember you are always free to customize this routine to your liking, adding or taking away things you see fitting to you. This is a guideline to work from. The most important thing is that you take the time out on a regular basis. For instance you could block out on your calendar “Spa Time at Home” at least once every other week, or on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. This is an excellent way to make sure you get that much needed “Me Time” you truly deserve.
